On consumerism and the modern self

Sh. Abdal Hakim Murad (Tim Winter)

What this source says

The riba economy is not only a violation of law; it is a deformation of the soul. To owe perpetually, to plan a life around debt-service, to defer real ownership for decades in exchange for the appearance of present possession — this is a spiritual condition before it is a financial one. Exiting riba is therefore not merely a legal act; it is an act of recovering the self the Prophet ﷺ instructed us to be.
